Located in Mukuruweini, Wajee Nature Park is the perfect spot for lovers of bird watching. Established in 1991 by Africa Air Rescue boss Jagi Gakunju, the 22-acre land has become famous for bird watching, nature walks, recreation and learning.
The park main attraction is the is the Hinde’s Babbler, which is endemic to the Mt. Kenya Region and is listed as threatened due to the encroachment of its lower Mt. Kenya Forest habitat.
The park’s nature trail is adorned with fascinating flora and fauna. Animal species you would expect to find include the genet cat, lesser galago, and side-striped jackal.
