Kariandusi is a fascinating dig site located near Lake Elementaita. Here you will see a vast array of stone tools, situated as discovered during the course of exploration and excavation by Louis Leakey.
This Museum site is probably the first Acheulean site to have been found in Situ in East Africa. Hundreds of Bolas and Acheulean hand axes and stone artifacts have been unearthed here.
The resident Archaeologist is a pleasure to meet, the gorges are beautiful and the history is just a Marvel. Since it’s located near Lake Elementaita, the landscape views of the lake and Rift Valley add to the fun and thrill.
