Kiangombe hill is one of the most unique geographical features in Embu County. This attraction in Mbeere North is one of the highest within the sub-county with a natural forest that covers an area of 2,104 hectares. Since time in memorial, the hill has provided spiritual and physical nourishment to the Mbeere community. The Mbeere communities use the shrines on the hill to make sacrifices to their ancestors so as to seek their blessings during difficult times such as droughts. Further, the hill is also a major water catchment area and the main source of livelihoods for the locals as they harvest wild fruits and medical herbs from it.
