Sheu Morobi

Sheu Morobi a steep and overhanging cliff, perhaps 300 m high, located between two hills covered by thick forest, on the Nandi Escarpment. In the Sheu Morobi cliffs old people of the Nandi tribe of Kalenjin ethnic group used to come here to die. The senior men and women would jump off the over 450-meter-high cliffs, with some heard celebrating their lives, wealth and family before falling to their death. This was all with good intentions of relieving their family from the burden of caring for them. Residents and tourists take a 15km drive from Nandi Hills to Kapsimotwa Hills to get to Sheu Morobi cliffs.
