Besides, Iten’s rich and diverse attraction resources and the famous Kerio View Escarpment, Elgeyo Marakwet boasts of some of the best global paragliding spots where several world records have been flown.

Today the valley is the most famous paragliding spot in Kenya with professional gliders from all over the world having a crack at it. This includes two of the world paragliding record holders — Marcus Schapler and Thomas Schweers who have been training for a while.

The average hours spent by a paraglider is 4 hours.  Nonetheless, the record time so far at Kerio valley is seven hours. The minimum charge for a tandem flight is Sh8,000 per person for a 20-30-minute flight depending on the winds.
