Ngong Hills

Ngong Hills is a popular weekend destination for travelers from all over the country because it is only 22 kilometers southwest of the capital. The Maasai people respect the Ngong Hills, which they claim were formed when a giant wandering north from Kilimanjaro with his head in the clouds slipped and fell heavily to the ground, imprinting his knuckles into the dirt, hence the name Ngong, which means "knuckles." Buffaloes, wild pigs, porcupine, and dik-diks are among the wildlife that may be found in the Ngong Hills forest.
