Located on the northern slopes of Mt. Kenya, Ngare Ndare Forest is a lush indigenous forest that sits on a 5540 Hectares piece of land. Ngare Ndare boasts of a half a kilometer canopy walkway. This canopy walkway is the first in this region. It allows visitors to walk through the canopy of the forest (top of the forest trees) while viewing wildlife below.
Azure pools glisten at the bottom of waterfalls and 200-year-old trees stretch into the canopy supporting a rich variety of bird and animal life. Also found in this forest is the river Ngare-Ndare waterfall. At that point, water falls over rocks and into a natural dam like pool surrounded by rocks.
