The discernible Nabuyatom, which in Turkana dialect is a “Place of the war horn,” rises 384m and is often described as a “perfect cinder-volcano” The geological marvel 72km North of Central-Island Park is a remnant of a collapsed deep volcano discovered by photographer Martin Harvey on an aerial view of the Lake. This peculiar extinct crater is among the world’s profound craters best seen from the air.
