The Mungoma Caves represent the location where Mulogooli (father of the Maragoli tribe) settled and made his home. Navigation through the caves and walking through the Mulogooli’s home is a challenging and adventurous activity. If you are claustrophobic then this activity isn’t for you. Anyone who would wish to be a leader would come here to get anointed, it holds a great significance to the Maragoli tribe. It is a well-protected shrine where the Maragoli are strict on who should visit the caves; if you’re married to more than one wife you’re not allowed in the cave because Mulogooli who lived in the cave had only one wife. The Maragoli Tribe assemble here every year to pay tribute to their founding father Mulogooli.
