High in the mist-wreathed hills of western Kenya is a towering volcanic giant, Mt. Elgon National Park. The park offers a rich menu of activities that include; hiking, rock climbing, biking, horse riding, and birdwatching. Bird watchers would be interested to learn that the park is home to at least 144 bird species. Of particular interest are Jackson’s francolin, the eastern Bronze-naped pigeon, Hartlaub’s turaco, the Tacazze Sunbird, and the endangered lammergeyer. There are also three nature trails that lead to both the caves and Elephant Bluff. You will also find breathtaking views of the park from Endebass Bluff.
