Mai Mahiu Catholic Church
Popularly referred to as the Traveller's Chapel, Mai Mahiu Catholic Church is the smallest church in Africa. The Italian prisoners of war (POW) built the Church in 1942. It has only four small wooden pews, an altar with a pulpit, and measures approximately 15feet x 8 feet.
It is also well known as St. Mary of the Angels church and locals call it "msikiti". The Church can only seat a maximum of 12 people during a mass.
