Tucked away 13 kilometers from the town’s bustling streets of Nakuru, Lord Egerton Castle is a beautiful work of art and a masterpiece at its best. This landmark was built with imported materials in the name of love.
The castle was built in 1938 by Lord Maurice Egerton Tatton, the fourth and last Baron Egerton of Tatton to impress an unwilling fiancée. The lucky lady referred to it as ‘a horse stable’ and there and then, Lord Egerton never got married for as long as he lived. Getting to the Castle costs ksh70 bob on public vehicles and ksh400 on taxis especially if you are a resident.
