Kiang’ombe & Kianjiriu Hills form the chief mountainous region of Embu: confined to the northern area. The large rock outcrop is formed from blocks of resistant granitoid gneiss. The highest peaks of Kiangombe reach 5,920 feet. Kiang’ombe Forest consists of both exotic plantation and natural forests. The exotic orrare plantations are found at its foot and the top of the hill.
