Kamariny Track

Officially commissioned by the Queen of England in 1958, Kamariny stadium has always been used as a sports ground and agricultural showground. The stadium is situated 2 km outside the town of Iten, the capital hub of Elgeyo-Marakwet County  in Kenya.

Here on a sleepy Tuesday morning, you will find 80-plus athletes in dust-covered flight hard along the edge of the soaring Kerio Valley preparing for futures both certain and not. The reason why most athletes succeed however is the asset up of the region with high altitudes of up to 7700m. Thus, if you train hard in Kamariny, you can always do a better time in a different region/country.

Today, Kamariny is a training ground for World Champions like David Rudisha, Abel Kirui, Wilson Kipsang and UK's Mo Farah. The iconic dirt track in the stadium is where you will see the best athletes training hard every day. The stadium is open to the public and if you want to join an interval session you're welcomed by the locals.
