Jeevanjee Gardens

The park was founded by an Asian-born entrepreneur; A.M. Jeevanjee, in 1904 and then later donated it to the colonial administration in 1906 as a public park. It is the only park in the city that is directly owned by the people and as such you find most Nairobi residents go there seeking shade and peace of mind in the midst of hustle and bustle of the city life. The park is accessible from Moi Avenue, Monrovia Street, Muindi Mbingu Street or Moktar Daddah Street and it attracts people of all walks of life who relax on its benches and lawns.
