Built in remembrance of the Italian soldiers who died in East Africa during the Second World War, the church is a homage to the remains of over 676 Italian soldiers. Today the building is found within a serene area that is handled with great care. The serenity of the shrine is enhanced by a tree-lined drive and manicured lawns.
The best time to visit is during the month of November when the church commemorates an annual mass on Nov 4th in remembrance of the Italian soldiers. Visitors can marvel at the Marble-lined tombs, soldiers’ engravings and the special vault for Somali soldier who was captured.
