As Kenya’s oldest creamery, Doinyo Lessos began making cheese in 1964. From small beginnings, it has built our reputation through a commitment to quality, experience and the taste for great cheese. Highland Cheddar is the most popular and well known for its complete cheese range. In addition to their cheeses, they also produce milk, yogurt, ice cream, and ghee. Proudly artisan, all of their cheese is produced by hand and in small batches, with particular attention paid to the tradition of the cheese maker’s art. Doinyo Lessos are proud that they use as little mechanization as possible in the production of our cheese.
