The August 7th Memorial Park locally known as ‘bomb blast’ is a serene location, though it holds dark memories of the 7th August 1998 bombing at the site of the United States embassy building in Nairobi City in which more than 200 people lost their lives. Today the site remains a memorial site and a cool place to relax and take a nap. Photography is not allowed here due to the sensitivity of the material, but the remains are displayed for public viewing. There is a board with the names of those reported dead due to the blasts.
