The Mwokobo dancers group was created as early as the 1940s in Kirinyaga. The group resides less than 30km from the hotel in a village called Mukuura in Ndia, Kirinyaga County. It’s a small group of only 12 members, five men, and seven women. The group practices every Monday and the public is welcome to watch or join them to learn some moves. What makes them unique is the historical significance and the cultural emphasis they portray in Kirinyaga. This group also educates the public on the Kikuyu culture through dance and music. Mwomboko dance is, however, a very popular dance in Kenya among the Kikuyu community but usually but seldom practiced.
