Bongole Crater

Bongole Crater 1

Also known as “Gof Bongole” with a diameter of about 2.5 km, the crater was formed by a reaction between underground water and magma.  The crater floor has a lake whose volume varies with rainfall, from a green marsh during the rainy times to a dry bed during the drier times. The lake serves as a grazing spot for animals.
