Located about 270 miles from Nairobi, Busia town is Kenya's gateway to Uganda. In fact, there are two Busia towns one in Uganda and one in Kenya.

Apart from its unique set of attraction features, Busia has some of the most mind-boggling cultural heritage especially in Samia and Bunyala which includes boat racing festivals, riveting music fusions, and age-old cuisines. Kakapel National Monument which was gazetted to the Kenyan constitution as a national monument in 2004 and Lake Victoria Viewpoint are the two major attraction sites in Busia, Kenya. The famous Lake Victoria borders Busia to the south-western side.
